A Birthday Party For Tom (September 30)

It is Tom's birthday so we go to a fairly new Hot Pot restaurant in Emei City. Turned out to be the best Hot Pot we have had in Sichuan even though, Sunee was in her ten days of vegetarian fasting.


This is the place we were taken to for Mr. Tom's birthday celebration. It is called Hot Place. Very modern with lots of light outside.

On the way up to the second floor, there were huge posters that pretty well summed up what we would be eating. Again, the whole place was very modern and upscale.


The decor throughout the restaurant emphasized red. Even the hot pot was shining a bright red.


Our lovely waitress was dressed to match the red decor. She did a very professional job for us.


Sunee was unable to eat anything because she was doing her yearly vegetarian thing. Still, even she saw that the service, food and atmosphere were excellent.


Mr. Gao, a teacher with us at Jiaoda was hosting the party and his family joined us. His extended family since he and his wife were from Emei City.
